More than 40 First Balfour employees were in attendance during the Climate Reality Project (CRP) and Be+Aware presentation made by Perpi Tiongson of OML Center.

Held to launch the second phase of First Balfour’s Zero Hero, the CRP and Be+Aware campaign brought eye-opening facts about climate change and urged attendees to come up with commitment cards towards creating a more livable Philippines.

Zero Hero is an environmental awareness campaign aimed at challenging employees to give back to the environment by reducing their carbon footprint.

Meanwhile, about 300 employees in seven provinces planted 2,300 native trees to achieve a common goal—to create carbon sinks and contribute to mitigating climate change.

The company-wide tree planting activity in celebration of Arbor Day enabled First Balfour employees from all over the Philippines to plant thousands of seedlings of acacia, molave, narra, bantigue and other native trees in Ilocos Norte, Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Batangas and Leyte.

The activity, led by HR Employee Relations and Kilusan sa First Balfour, is also part of First Balfour’s Zero Hero campaign. (Story/Photos by: Dolly Pasia)
